Arbor Day, which always occurs every year on the last Friday in April, doesnt garner the recognition of big holidays like Christmas and the 4th of July. But its still a noteworthy event each year because it gives us the opportunity to reflect on the importance of trees. The National Arbor Day website says it best:

Trees are simply amazing. They clean air and water, slow climate change, ease poverty and hunger, prevent species loss, and feed the human soul. All we need to do is plant and care for them.

At Landscape Solutions, we take time each year on Arbor Day to plant at least one new tree in celebration of the holiday. And this year we thought, What about you?

Our challenge to you is simple: Plant a tree. Find a clear spot near your home, dig the hole (but call first), and set the small tree or starter in the ground. If you have children, make it an event you can return to year after year. Build a tradition they can extend to the next generation.

Together we can all share the beauty and importance of trees. Make Arbor Day 2016 count!
